Nur Jazlan slams Umno trio for defying party line
PETALING JAYA: A Johor Umno leader says party colleagues Annuar Musa, Nazri Aziz and Tajuddin Abdul Rahman should “stop talking” because they do not contribute to the good of the party.
Nur Jazlan Mohamed, deputy head of Johor Umno, described the trio as “cowards” who just wanted to safeguard their seats, following their refusal to support the party’s push for an early general election.
“What are they afraid of? Are they afraid to lose? Or are they afraid of losing their salaries as MPs? When the party has stated its stance that it wants GE15 to be expedited, they must support the party’s interests,” he said in a statement today.
Jazlan, a former deputy home minister, said Barisan Nasional (BN) could not wait any longer for the elections to be called, as the party’s momentum and the mood of the rakyat would change.
“After all, the country needs to be saved immediately at a time when the whole world is facing an economic crisis and inflation,” he said. “The slower we form a stable and credible government, the more backwards the country will be – and the more difficult it will be to deal with the various crises.”Disyorkan Untuk Anda :

He said that Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has also ruled out the possibility of reintroducing the unpopular goods and services tax (GST) which he said was the main cause of the BN government’s fall in 2018.
He said GST was a good way to restore the government’s finances, which he said had been “badly damaged due to the failure of Pakatan Harapan and Perikatan Nasional in managing the government and Covid-19”.
Jazlan said it is not impossible that BN would be blamed at GE15 if it had to reintroduce GST in order to cover up for the previous governments’ failures.
