Six students escape fire at tahfiz school hostel
SERI ISKANDAR: Six students escaped unhurt after a fire broke out at a tahfiz school in Jalan Iskandar Bistari here early today.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said that they were alerted to the incident at the Tahfiz Dal Al-Fauzan Centre here at 12.46am.
He said a team of firemen from Seri Iskandar, assisted by Batu Gajah station rushed to the scene.
“The fire broke out at one of the rooms of the hostel building where there were six male students. All of them are safe.
“The fire damaged 15 per cent of the room and the situation was brought under control about five hours later,” he said adding the operation ended at 5.23am.
The spokesperson added that the cause of the fire and losses are still under investigation.
