Penang PN settles allocations for 13 parliamentary seats

PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional has finalised seat allocations for the 13 parliamentary constituencies in Penang for the coming general election, state PN chairman Dominic Lau said today.
The coalition, which comprises Bersatu, PAS and Gerakan, has also discussed its preparations for the elections, and will hold a retreat to draw election plans.
Lau, who is Gerakan president, said each PN component had submitted the names of its liaison chiefs in the respective parliamentary constituencies so that the coalition could start preparing for the polls.
These leaders, he said, have been told to go to the ground once their appointments are finalised.
Lau, who was appointed Penang PN chairman last month, said these leaders must understand the local issues and provide aid as well as look out for the constituents’ interest.
Liaison chiefs will not automatically be named as election candidates, he said. “But we must unite and work as a team so that Penang PN can obtain good results.”
BN seat allocations to be decided by highest leadership, say Tok Mat
