PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has called four individuals whose names were mentioned in Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s corruption trial and more are expected to be summoned soon.

MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the anti-graft agency had already called up certain individuals for their statements to be recorded.

“Yes, we will call all those whose names are listed and mentioned during the trial.

“We have already interviewed four so far,” he told The Star on Wednesday (July 27).

Azam however did not reveal the identities of the individuals who had been interviewed.

“It’s an ongoing process and still some way to go before we can come to a conclusion,” he added.

On Monday (July 25), Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said all those mentioned in the ledger kept by Ultra Kirana Sdn Bhd (UKSB) would be called up for investigations by the MACC.

Ahmad Zahid is facing 33 charges of receiving bribes amounting to SG$13.56mil (RM43.545mil) from UKSB for himself as the Home Minister to extend the contract the company as the operator of the One-Stop Centre in China and providing the Foreign Visa System (VLN) system, as well as to maintain the agreement to supply the system paraphernalia to the same company by the Home Ministry.

Several politicians whose names were mentioned during the trial have denied receiving money from the company.
