Man claims trial to cheating victim of nearly RM96,000
The accused being taken to the Magistrate’s court to be charged for the alleged offences.

Mohamad Aizat Ahmad first pleaded not guilty before magistrate Mohd Firdaus Saleh to two charges of cheating the woman who is a financial officer.

For the first charge, he was accused of duping the victim into handing over jewellery and cash totalling RM15,362 to him for “cleansing” purposes after he told the victim that he knew a bomoh who could treat her mysterious illness.

For the second charge, he allegedly asked the victim to transfer RM34,020 into an account belonging to a company dealing in motor spare parts for the same purpose.

Firdaus then allowed the accused to be released on a RM8,000 bail and fixed Aug 10 for next mention.





Mohamad Aizat was later produced before magistrate Norzaliza Tesmin where he claimed trial to two more charges.

For the next charge, he allegedly cheated the same woman into transferring RM14,530 into an account belonging to a marketing company and for the fourth charge, duped her into transferring another RM32,000 into the same account.

All the offences were allegedly committed at a restaurant in Senawang around 6pm on March 19.

He was charged under Section 420 of the Penal Code which provides a jail sentence of between one and 10 years, whipping and a fine.

Norzaliza also allowed the accused to be released on RM8,000 bail and fixed Aug 10 for next mention and to allow him to appoint legal counsel.
